Michelangelo"s is finally open!
After many months of hard work, delays, confusion and sometimes a little doubt, Michelangelo's Pizzeria is finally open and fired off the first pizza on December 24th, 2009 at around 6:15 P.M.. To our surprise it has been non-stop ever since. While we did anticipate some interests in the store or the food, nothing prepared us for what followed, in ever growing crowd of customers and a rather large base of returning guests. We of course are all very thankful and appreciate the outcome and support we have received from everyone: our families, friends and especially our new found customers.
We wanted to create a pizzeria based on both my wife's and my own experiences with the pizzerias we are used to back in the US (New York City and Chicago) and we believe have have done just that. Offering only the most authentic dishes that you would find over in the West using the same ingredients and creating an atmosphere that brings to mind Rock N Roll, community and friendship. We wanted a small place catering to the local neighborhood and have a wait staff that is full of life and energy. Somehow everything fell into place all at the very last minute. When we actually decided to open the doors on the 24th, it was only a day before, we were unsure how we could handle it all, we had no employees, no prior experiences in running a place like this and we were not even sure if we could get the wood fire oven to work right. On the 24th we found ourselves with a new staff (provided by friends) customers who knew about us and food that was coming out cooked well and tasty. What can we say, we were amazed and have been growing more and more and are looking forward to adding more of a take out service to our services.
